Patient wheelchairs that clearly belong Often times when a wheelchair theft occurs it is partially because the chair looks like the standard wheelchair seen in households. Many hospital directors annually record significant quantity loss because someone has simply taken a chair home.
The Dragons Chair ultimately eventually found its way into the Art Deco collection of the late fashion designer Yves Saint Laurant and his partner Pierre Berge who were the co-founders of the YSL luxury brand.
On a regular basis I hear patients comment in a negative way about the expense of ergonomic office products. My response usually draws a correlation between the costs of their vehicle versus the cost of a good chair. Very few of us spend more than 8 hours per week in our cars that we spends tens of thousands of dollars on yet we often scoff at spending more than a few hundred bucks on a good chair that we sit in for 8 hours per day. That is some backwards logic isn't it?
There are other models that do not have this feature, and still remain stackable. Unless you need chairs designed for transport in a vehicle there is no reason to invest in easily purloined traditional wheelchairs. Most institutions that provide wheelchairs report a 10-20% loss of inventory due to theft; an expense that can really affect the bottom line.
